Vintage Louis Vuitton Monogram Cartouchiere Bag France

Late-70s/early-80s Monogram flap bag with the leather tab-and-buckle closure, gusseted sides, and a fully adjustable vachetta shoulder strap. Stamped LOUIS VUITTON PARIS, made in France, no date code — correct for the era, since LV didn’t start using them until the early 80s.   The interior is the standout. Tan leather lining throughout, clean and supple with no stickiness, no odor, no pen marks, and the stamp is crisp. On a bag this old that’s unusual and it’s the part most examples fail on.   Condition, called out honestly:   • Vachetta strap has darkened to a deep honey with staining and cracking along its length, worst at the buckle holes and near the fold points  • Canvas shows wear cracks along the edges and corners where the piping takes the abrasion  • Flap tab and hardware are intact and the buckle functions  • Body canvas is otherwise solid with no splits through the panels    The strap is usable as-is but a buyer planning daily wear should have a cobbler reinforced
